Citroën 2CV 1949 Design Interior Exterior Car – The level of innovation in the 1948 2CV was wonderful at an auto of any cost in that period, not to mention one of the least expensive autos on the planet. While hues and detail determinations were adjusted in the following 42 years, the greatest mechanical change was the expansion of front plate brakes (by then officially fitted for quite a long while in the mechanically comparative Citroën Dyane 6), in October 1981 (for the 1982 model year). The unwavering quality of the auto was improved by the moderate rearrangements of the planners, being air-cooled (with an oil cooler), it had no coolant, radiator, water pump or indoor regulator. It had no wholesaler either, only a contact breaker framework. Aside from the every water powered brake, there were no pressure driven parts on unique models as damping was by tuned mass dampers and grating dampers.
The body was built of a double H-outline stage undercarriage and flying machine style tube structure, and a flimsy steel shell that was dashed to the chassis. Because the first plan brief required a low speed auto, almost no consideration was paid to optimal design. The outcome was that the body had a drag coefficient (Cd) of a high 0.51.
The suspension of the 2CV was humorously delicate; a man could without much of a stretch shake the auto side to side drastically (forward and backward was a lot more safe). The main arm/trailing arm swinging arm, fore-toward the back connected suspension framework together with inboard front brakes had a much littler unsprung weight than existing curl spring or leaf spring outlines.
