The Ferrari FXX-K 2016 with a hood has a redesigned ventilation and a black center round the new front fascia. The lattice split is the only component that remains untouched. A large diffuser replaces the two-piece unit seen in LaFerrari, flanked by single channels on each side, the standard LaFerrari has a quad-exhaust layout. Spoilers and rear lights are also new, but the main beam is seen just above the rear car hood in the form of a rather unconventional wing.

The interior of the Ferrari FXX-K 2016 is very simple compared with LaFerrari. Ferrari throws away all the features of luxury and comfort that are of no use on the race track and replaces them with lightweight racing specification components. The new center console is between seats, buttons and switches that operate everything from air conditioners and heaters to KERS and launch systems. The 2016 Ferrari FXX-K with dashboard and steering is almost identical to road cars, but most soft touch surfaces are replaced with carbon fiber inserts, including the center of the steering wheel. Door panels are also ordinary carbon fiber boards. The Ferrari FXX-K 2016 seat has a large reinforcement on the side, carbon structure, and utilizes race-spec. Red lines that stretch in the middle, and red contrast stitches add a little color to the black interior. The Ferrari FXX-K 2016 has an instrument cluster equipped with various graphics and possible new display options, allowing the driver to monitor important car data while on the track.

The 2016 Ferrari FXX-K gets the same hybrid drivetrain as LaFerrari, which means the 6.3-liter V-12 is paired with an electric motor. This combo is stronger at the Ferrari FXX-K 2016, however, with a spinning 1,036 horsepower and 664 pound-feet torque, a significant 86-pony increase. The V-12 increased from 789 to 848 horse output, while the electric unit was updated to produce 187 horses instead of 161. The total output makes the 2016 Ferrari FXX-K stronger which has a 986 horsepower rating.
