Prototype Honda Insight all-new will be powered by a hybrid system of two Honda motors that offer competitive fuel savings with other compact hybrid models. The new Honda Insight should burn less than 4.7L / 100 km, while promising the most powerful powertrain in this segment, thanks to a third-generation hybrid system developed by Honda, which includes a high-speed Atkinson Cycle 1.5L engine, electric motors and lithium-ion battery. The latter is placed under the rear seat to avoid feeding into the luggage room and to maintain the flexibility of the available 60/40 folding seats. In most commuting situations, Insight must be able to rely on electricity alone.
